There are various ways in which an organisation can promote its product. Some of them include: personal selling, publicity, advertising and sales promotion. Advertising is one of the most popular methods of product promotion. It is a non-personal communication to current and prospective customers to inform, persuade or convince them to purchase a product. â€Å"It has been favoured by most producers due to its low cost per contact and its ability to influence customers and increase market share† (Marks and Kamins 267). Many organisations have benefited to a great extent in building a brand using advertising. Critics have also pointed out the evils of advertising and have argued that it has more negative effects than its advantages.
